Chasing Youth At Any Cost
The lightning dances across
The dark night sky,
Helping the lighthouse
Illuminate the way
to a gorgeous gazebo
wrapped with bougainvillea.
Long fabled to be the
Coveted fountain of youth.
Approach it carefully,
For its well-guarded by
The fierce black panther.
He cannot be outrun,
But there’s another method.
He can certainly be lured away,
With a tasty blue-ribbon pie.
It’s worth the risk for the
slightest chance to
To outsmart father-time.
This was my first Paint Chip Poetry Challenge and I quite enjoyed. Here is the chip we were given, use at least 2 words – pairs are better. Bonus for using additional words.
I highly recommend giving this a try, here’s the link:
Would that be a chicken pot pie or does this panther prefer chocolate cream? Very nice take on this prompt. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for sharing the link.

Most definitely a chicken pot pie, with a bone or two thrown in to occupy his time!
